My Story

Training your best friend

My name is Katie Potter and I’ve been training dog's since I was 5 years old! Starting with family members dogs then moving to neighbours' dogs and friends of friends. This all began when I found out about Caeser Millan I learnt a lot about what I know by watching him and reading his books. I went to work in my first kennels at 12 years of age, Here my knowledge grew in dog behaviour, many different boarding kennels later, going to college, working in groomers and pet shops.  Now 26 years old with my own family I decided to begin my own venture, finally starting up professionally. Eventually listening to what  had been encouraged to do for so many years. I believe in developing a mutual understanding between you and your dog, because caring for an animal in your home is as much about responsibility as it is about love. Get the most out of your relationship with your dog by calling me today.

Puppy Training

Getting a puppy is an exciting time! but getting the training right is so important. Consistency & boundaries are key to training your puppy. Training doesn’t always have to be strict, it’s also a fun and rewarding way for you to spend quality time together, and really helps you strengthen your bond. Most pups really enjoy training as it’s a chance for them to challenge their brains, earn rewards, get lots of praise and attention!

Leash Training

Many people think that dogs just innately know how to walk politely on a leash, but this skill is something that needs to be trained. It’s an important skill to teach, and one you’ll value every time you take your dog out for a walk.

Reativity

Personalized and Professional

A reactive dog presents in many ways. Many people relate reactivity to aggressive behaviour connected with an attack or an impending attack.  Behaviours such as becoming still and rigid, growling, snarling, baring teeth, lunging, and nipping or biting. Reactivity doesn't always have to be towards other dogs or people, this behaviour can be directed at household items, cars, bikes, runners etc.

Dog

Resource Gaurding

Resource guarding in dogs is exactly what the name suggests — it’s when dogs protect their valued resources, such as food or territory, by displaying aggressive behaviour.

Recall

Having a reliable recall is especially important if you want to allow your dog to run off-lead outside. Even if your dog doesn’t go off-leash, reliable recall is an important skill for any dog in the event of an emergency.
